Barbara Jean Keller is called Bobbie Jean or BJ by her friends at Bella Vita a 55+ Retirement Community. Precocious at 93 years young, she says some call her trouble, but if someone calls her Barbara, she knows it’s time to “hightail it out of there.”
Born in the small town of Minocqua, Wisconsin, BJ was one of 9 children. As a young girl BJ learned to paint, and in the video below she shows of some of her impressive work, including stitch-work she did based on a photograph of a WW II aircraft from a Disney Imagineer.
BJ moved to Colorado in 1966 where she has lived ever since. She and her husband Richard, seen in the video, are newlyweds! They are active and beloved members of the Bella Vita community. They are a busy couple who enjoy living in our active retirement community. They love to travel and are planning a road trip soon to Wisconsin to visit BJ’s youngest brother.
