Bella Vita has been monitoring the ever-changing Colorado COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan very closely. On February 8th Colorado released the next phase of the distribution plan which was phase 1B2. This new phase included individuals who are 65+ and gave them the option to begin being vaccinated. Read to find out more information on Colorado’s phase 1B2.
On February 11th, just a few days after Colorado released phase 1B2, residents at Bella Vita stepped up to fight the spread of COVID-19 by getting their first dose of the vaccine! The in-community clinic was provided by the Tri-County Health Department’s mobile vaccination effort. Bella Vita was able to vaccinate about 50 residents during their 1st vaccine clinic, who were all 65+ and residents who did not have underlying conditions which could cause possible severe reactions to the vaccine.
When will the rest of the Bella Vita residents get vaccinated?
Bella Vita has been in constant communication with the Colorado Department of Health, the CDC, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as details of the Colorado COVID-19 vaccine distribution process continue to develop. As soon as new information is released on when the next phase will become eligible to those included in that phase we will notify the Bella Vita residents and families.
Even though some residents and team members have been vaccinated we are not out of this pandemic yet. Bella Vita will continue to follow public safety guidelines including physical distancing, frequent hand-washing, limiting group gatherings, restricting nonessential travel, and wearing a mask.
